As most of you know, Greg has been shadowing myself and Sharon for quite sometime. He is gaining valuable CrossFit coaching experience to go along with his already polished skills as a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor helping as an assist in our BADASS Teen Strength and Conditioning Program. I’m excited to add another coach to the team, and really excited to announce that Greg is our guy. Here’s a little bio he put together.

I’m 22 years old – son of Jan and Bryan Nyhof, and brother of two older sisters, Kelly and Jill. I’m by far the most under accomplished athlete in my family. Kelly plays volleyball on the Canadian National Team, and Jill was a Division 1 NCAA Big South Conference Academic All-American volleyball player. Height is about the only thing I have on the two of them! I am currently completing my Business degree at Wilfrid Laurier University with minors in Economics and Psychology. I’m also a receiver on the Golden Hawks varsity Football Team, which has provided me with a number of unique and fulfilling opportunities; not the least of which is a great excuse to train as much as possible. One such opportunity is speaking to elementary and high-school students in the region about nutrition and the harmful effects of APED’s (Artificial Performance Enhancing Drugs) through a program called “Succeed Clean.” I spend as much of my free time as possible with my family – whether it be at home or at our cottage in Caledon, ON. We like to waterski/wakeboard, fish, play golf, and re-define insanity by means of many ambitious DIY projects. They are great learning experiences…

I started doing CrossFit on my own in January of 2014, and joined Division in April of 2014. It started out as a way to supplement my football training, but quickly became a passion. I decided to get my CF-L1 and pursue coaching opportunities in the hopes that other people would have the same amazing experience as me. CrossFit makes me a better son, brother, boyfriend, friend, and athlete. I am more fit and mentally tough than I have ever been before; but more importantly, I’ve met some incredible people along the way and they have taught me more than school ever will. “It’s the thought of one day realizing your dreams that makes life interesting.” – The Alchemist.
