Athlete of the Month: Jason Deglint

When and how did you get started with us?

I first heard about you guys by googling “gyms in Waterloo”. I was looking for a new gym and you guys were near by. I had heard of CrossFit but didn’t know too much about it so I decided to check it out.

Favorite workout? Least favorite workout?
My favorite workout is something with a barbell. Maybe a hang clean or a back squat. Least favorite workout.. anything with burpees!!

What’s the best part about working out with the 6:00am class or 4:30pm class?
Best part of working out with the classes is getting to know the cool people in the class.

What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?

What’s in your most frequently used emoji tab?
Not much of an emoji guy. Probably just a smiley 🙂

What’s the first CD you ever bought?
Don’t remember the first CD I bought. I think it was a pink floyd CD.

What’s the best cheat meal you had over the holidays?
Cheat food: shortbread cookies! So good! And cheesecake is a close 2nd.

What’s the last thing you searched for on Google?
Last thing I googled was a guy named Brent seales. I heard about him on an artificial intelligence podcast. He is using ai to read at ancient manuscripts that can’t be opened. Really cool stuff.

What’s your favorite flavor of Starburst?
Favorite starburst is pink… Strawberry.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
Animal.. this is hard to choose. I would be a elephant because they have a good memory and are friendly, but you don’t want to mess with them.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
New crayon color is purple because it is underrated.

Score is the sum of calories across the two sets.
